Mike Secrist, the Outlier, & OUR New Book

I’ve mentioned before my love for reading business books searching for relevance and application in the F13 world. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell is the one I’m reading right now. Though not really a business book at first glance, it’s been on my list for a couple years.

Its subtitle defines this book perfectly. It’s “The Story of Success”. I’m only a few chapters in and I’m already so fired up about the amazing realizations and how they transcend all aspects of life.

Boiled down to one concept, the author explains and then justifies why in order to become a true expert (or an Outlier) at something, anything, in life – from professional sports to even organized crime – you need to put in at least 10,000 hours of focused, hard work in that discipline.

The stories he tells are truly fascinating. From your own personal or professional success to your kid’s love for his first organized sports, this book will have you looking at life from a new perspective.

Alright, back to the 10,000 hours…by this definition, Mike Secrist is a visualization expert many times over; he is an Outlier. So who better to write a book to guide you – developers, architects, interior designer, home builders, etc. through the world of the visualization process? No one.

Yes, Mike and I authored a book that is meant to help you navigate our world from researching visualization firms to finalizing a project. We avoid our industry-specific jargon and we avoid mundane details about how we do what we do and give you the insight you need to make this piece of your projects that we at F13 are so familiar with, run more smoothly.

“Architectural Visualization: It’s Relevance to the Unbuilt World” is now available on Amazon both soft cover and kindle versions and ships via Prime.
